Born and raised in Opelousas, Louisiana, Jonah grew up in a Christian home; however, he did not come to faith in Jesus Christ until the age of 20. Jonah’s upbringing posed some unique challenges. Shockingly, he grew up without receiving an education. This impacted his entire outlook on life. He did anything he could to get ahead. It was not until Jesus took ahold of his heart that he found meaning and purpose and began to understand God’s plan for his life within the local church community.
After completing his GED, Jonah attended Moody Bible Institute (BA, 2013). There Jonah met his wife, Carly (BS, 2013). Most recently, Jonah completed a master’s degree from Dallas Theological Seminary (ThM, 2017). While at DTS, Jonah worked at Prestonwood Baptist Church as the intern to adult ministries. Jonah also was instrumental in helping launch an ice-cream shop (Howdy Homemade), designed to employ those with special needs. In January of 2017, Jonah came on Fourth’s pastoral staff as the associate pastor of adult ministries.
Jonah’s wife, Carly, is completing her nursing degree. She is a wonderful support and ministry partner to Jonah. Together they enjoy exploring the outdoors, traveling, and reading.
