Our chief concern in the youth program is to instill a faith that will last a lifetime through strong biblical teaching. Thus, personal discipleship is the foundation of this ministry. However, our secondary priority is to empower youth to share their faith in a highly secularized world. This emphasis in priority is expressed in Matthew 28:18-20.
“Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.” Colossians 2:6-7
“You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 3:14-15.
Partnership with Parents
Fourth Memorial youth ministry exists to supplement and complement the spiritual teaching and influence taking place in the home through parents. We believe parents are designated by God to be the primary influencers to raise their children in the knowledge and fear of the Lord. We believe that it is the responsibility of the youth staff to come alongside parents and provide secondary teaching and biblical exhortation. As a team striving for the same goal, our desire is to facilitate growth and character in the next generation (Ephesians 6:1-4; Deuteronomy 6:6-9; Hebrews 12:7-11; Proverbs 1:8-9).
New youth staff members are welcome! If you are able to commit to this ministry and desire to help serve our youth as they grow into the next generation of believers, we would love to hear from you. As a member of the youth staff, you will have opportunities to mentor kids, lead discussion groups, and participate in regular youth events and outreach programs. We take great joy in utilizing servants who have a heart and passion for youth. All youth staff must complete a ministry application and a confidential background check through Fourth Memorial Church.
"But Jesus said, “Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
